Week 16 Final Injury Report: Brian Burns questionable

injuryreport_fri_16

CHARLOTTE – Defensive end Brian Burns is listed as questionable for Sunday's trip to Washington, giving him a slightly better chance to play than the two Panthers who are doubtful.

That's the designation for running back Christian McCaffrey (thigh) and left tackle Russell Okung (calf). Cornerback Troy Pride Jr. was originally listed as doubtful, but downgraded to out on Saturday after it was announced that he wouldn't travel to Washington.

For McCaffrey, it would be his 12th missed game this season. Okung has been limited to seven games, while Pride has appeared in every game as a rookie.

Burns has played in all 30 games since the Panthers made him a first-round draft pick in 2019. He has a team-high 8.0 sacks this season and is the only Panther with at least 5.0 sacks. Washington has four players with at least that many (Montez Sweat - 7.0, Ryan Kerrigan - 5.5, Chase Young - 5.5, Tim Settle - 5.0).

Despite the questionable designation, head coach Matt Rhule said earlier this week that Burns "is more than likely out."
