Panthers place linebacker Frankie Luvu on Reserve/COVID-19 list

Frankie Luvu

SPARTANBURG — The Panthers made a pair of roster moves Tuesday as players reported to training camp.

Outside linebacker Frankie Luvu was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Luvu was signed this offseason after spending his first three years with the Jets. Coaches liked the way he picked up things during the offseason program, and think he can add some depth there in addition to contributing on special teams.

The Panthers also put safety Lano Hill on the active/physically unable to perform list.

He suffered a foot injury during OTAs. He can be activated from the PUP list at any time.

Hill, who previously played for the Seahawks, was signed to provide secondary depth after he participated in rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
