CHARLOTTE — The Panthers will be without three starters and a key reserve today against the Dolphins.
Four of the six inactive were ruled out on Friday, with running back Chuba Hubbard (calf), defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton (toe), tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders (ankle), and nickel Chau Smith-Wade (chest) declared out for the game.
The other two inactives for Sunday's game against the Dolphins are defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy and linebacker Claudin Cherelus.
The Panthers activated defensive end LaBryan Ray from injured reserve to the active roster on Saturday, after he practiced without limitation last week.
They also promoted linebacker Krys Barnes from the practice squad by standard elevation, adding experience to that position group. Barnes has 30 career starts during his time with the Packers and Cardinals.
The Panthers will start Rico Dowdle at running back, and continue with Tommy Tremble at tight end as they've used more two and three-tight end packages. Bobby Brown III will replace Wharton in the starting lineup on defense.
