CHARLOTTE — The Panthers will be without all their projected starters and a number of key backups for tonight's preseason finale against the Steelers.
A total of 33 players aren't expected to play. We already knew that the first offense and defense wouldn't, and backup quarterback Andy Dalton is also being held out.
That leaves the quarterback duties to Jack Plummer and newcomer Bryce Perkins, who was signed on Monday.
Other players who won't play tonight, beyond the starters, include running back Rico Dowdle, just-activated tight end Tommy Tremble, and some players dealing with recent injuries, including Nic Scourton, DJ Johnson, and LaBryan Ray.
