Jets get another field goal. Up 12-6 early in the fourth.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 18, 2024
Tae Davis (foot) is questionable
— Kassidy Hill (@KassidyGHill) August 18, 2024
Jets have gotten a couple of field goals out of kickoff mishaps. That'll need to be tightened up.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 18, 2024
Jets 9-6 with 1:08 left in the third.
Eddy's subsequent kickoff didn't reach the landing zone (the 20 yard line and in).
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 18, 2024
So the Jets get the ball at the 40.
The preseason is for experimentation.
Embrace the possibilities.
Panthers turn the interception into points, with a Piñeiro 34-yard field goal

Panthers 6
Jets 6

Demani Richardson with the pick.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 18, 2024
He had two in practice one day last week. They like this one better.
And the Jets get a field goal out of the big return, lead 6-3 early in the third.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 18, 2024
Allowed a big return to open the second half.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 18, 2024
Ball landed at the 5, returned 63 yards to the Car 32.

Jets tie it up with a field goal just before half.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 18, 2024
The Panthers defense has played pretty well, all things considered.
Protect Johnny Hekker at all costs.

TJ Smith gets into the backfield, chases Peasley and touched him down for the 15 yard sack

Eddy said this week they were going to try some different stuff on kickoffs.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 17, 2024
Landed that one at the 10, returned 19 yards to the 29.
So better than a touchback.
The experiments with the new rules continue.
Jack Plummer 7-of-8 for 42 yards so far. Much better start than last week for the rookie from Louisville.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 17, 2024
35 yard kick is good! pic.twitter.com/I1eI25pb7j
— Carolina Panthers (@Panthers) August 17, 2024
Eddy Piñeiro good from 35 yards out.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 17, 2024
Panthers up 3-0.
Jack Plummer threads the needle to TMJ to get Panthers knocking on the redzone. Offense moving so much smoother this week already.
— Kassidy Hill (@KassidyGHill) August 17, 2024
Andy Dalton is standing on the sidelines in a baseball cap.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 17, 2024
If I had hair like Andy Dalton, I'd never wear a hat of any kind.
Don't hide your light under a bushel, Andy. Let it shine.
D'Shawn Jamison and Lamar Jackson starting at CB tonight.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 17, 2024
With Dane Jackson set to miss "six-weeks-ish" with a hamstring, somebody has to start opposite Jaycee Horn.
Starting OL.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 17, 2024
LT Tyler Smith
LG Jack Anderson
C Andrew Raym
RG Mason Brooks
RT Ricky Lee
Maybe Brady Christensen gets a break tonight, after playing every snap last week.
Jets call heads, it's heads, they defer.

Panthers will receive.
Let's preseason, friends.

And for all the people upset the Panthers' starters aren't playing, they got 50-60 live reps Thursday.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) August 17, 2024
Since this still isn't a deep team, the risk of injury in a meaningless game isn't worth the hypothetical value of snaps together in a stadium instead of on a practice field.

Donât obsess over what itâs not, imagine what it could be.
Use tonight to experiment, to explore. Make a new tailgate recipe, meet a new friend, maybe try a nice seltzer instead of the usual diet beer.
