Panthers activate Frankie Luvu, Cameron Erving

Frankie Luvu

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers got their starting left tackle back for this week's game, as well as a key special teamer and contributor on defense.

The team activated veteran Cameron Erving, and he's expected to start in his regular spot against the Falcons.

Erving missed the last three games with a calf injury, but was designated to return from injured reserve on Monday, and has practiced all week.

The Panthers also activated outside linebacker Frankie Luvu from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday. Luvu leads the team in special teams tackles, and has a blocked punt and a forced fumble. He also has three fumble recoveries and 1.5 sacks on defense.

The Panthers also promoted a pair of players from the practice squad to help provide depth for the week, adding running back Reggie Bonnafon and offensive lineman Patrick Omameh (standard elevations).
