CHARLOTTE — The Panthers added some depth in the secondary on Wednesday.

They claimed safety D'Anthony Bell off waivers from the Seahawks. He was just here (playing both defense and special teams in Seattle's win Sunday) and will make another cross-country flight to join his new team.

The 29-year-old Bell has spent time with the Browns as well. He's appeared in 64 games in four seasons, with nine starts and two interceptions.

To make room for him on the roster, they placed tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders on injured reserve.

Sanders suffered a broken fibula last Sunday against the Seahawks on the first play of the game.
