The Panthers made three roster moves on the eve of the team's first training camp practice.

Carolina on Wednesday waived running back Elijah Hood, a Charlotte native who played college football at North Carolina. Hood spent last season on injured reserve after suffering a leg injury on the opening kickoff of the fourth preseason game.

The Panthers also waived guard Ian Silberman (non-football illness) and defensive tackle Elijah Qualls (non-football injury).

Carolina signed three players to fill open roster spots, headlined by former Jaguars wide receiver and kick returner Jaydon Mickens. He played the last two seasons with Jacksonville and had two punt returns over 60 yards in 2017.

The Panthers also signed guard Norman Price, a Southern Mississippi product who spent time on Carolina's roster last summer before being waived ahead of Week 1, and Bijhon Jackson, a defensive lineman who went to Arkansas and spent time on the Chargers roster during the 2018 training camp.
