CHARLOTTE — The Panthers had to adjust the roster again Thursday to account for an injury.
The team placed punter Joseph Charlton on injured reserve Thursday. He popped up on the injury report with a back issue Wednesday and was listed as limited, but it's a problem that will cost him at least the next three weeks.
Charlton had struggled at times this season (his net average is 37.5 yards per punt, after it was 40.8 as a rookie in 2020), and had a punt blocked last week against the Eagles.
To replace him on the active roster, they signed safety Kenny Robinson from the practice squad.
Robinson had been elevated each of the last two weeks, and provides more depth in the secondary while safety Juston Burris is on IR.
The Panthers also signed punter Ryan Winslow to the practice squad. He has spent time with the Bears, Cardinals and Packers as well as in the AAF. He's played in two NFL games (with the Cardinals in 2019), with a 48.5 gross and 44.2 net average.
