Panthers place three more on reserve/COVID-19 list

Pat Elflein

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers are going to have another new look on the offensive line this week, as they continue to adjust to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The team put center Pat Elflein and guard/tackle Dennis Daley on the league's reserve/COVID-19 list, forcing even more adjustments up front. The team also put practice squad defensive end Austin Larkin on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Regardless of any other moves, that will put Sam Tecklenburg in the starting lineup at center, since he's the only other one on the roster at the moment. That will mean this week brings the 11th unique combination of starting offensive linemen in 15 games.

Elflein has started every game in the middle since Matt Paradis suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 9.

The Panthers also have four other active players on the list: Safety Sam Franklin Jr., defensive end Azur Kamara, quarterback Matt Barkley, and defensive tackle Derrick Brown.

Running back Christian McCaffrey came off the COVID-19 list Wednesday, though he was already out for the year on injured reserve.
