CHARLOTTE - Wide receiver Brenton Bersin, a Charlotte native who played college football at the school that hosts Panthers training camp each year, was one of seven players signed to the team's practice squad Sunday.
Bersin, a Wofford College product, and the six others were all part of the Panthers' final roster cuts Saturday. Carolina can sign one more player to the squad, whose members will take part in practices on a daily basis to help prepare the Panthers for games.
Only players that do not have an accrued season of free agency credit or who were on the 46-player game day roster for less than nine games during an accrued season are eligibile for the practice squad. Players are limited to three practice squad seasons.
