Panthers tender Bryan Cox Jr.

CHARLOTTE - The Panthers have retained the rights of defensive end Bryan Cox Jr. for the 2019 season by tendering a contract to the exclusive rights free agent.

Carolina has now locked up all four of its exclusive rights free agents, previously signing fellow defensive end Efe Obada, safety Damian Parms and running back Elijah Hood. A player with less than three accrued seasons whose contract has expired is considered an exclusive rights free agent.

Cox has the most playing experience among the group. Undrafted out of Florida in 2017, the 6-foot-3, 270-pounder has seen spot duty in 18 games and has 16 tackles based on press box stats.

The new league year begins March 13.
