CHARLOTTE - Sir Purr and his Keep Pounding Fund team will prepare for the 10th Annual 24 Hours of Booty cycling event with a handful of appearances that kick off Thursday, July 14.

Panthers fans can show their support and get their photo taken with Sir Purr by making a donation that allows them to ride alongside him for five minutes on a stationary bike.

Sir Purr and Co. will be at the Center City Green Market at Trade & Tryon from 5:30-9 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on July 14. Between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., he'll ride for an hour with those who donate to the worthy cause.

"We appreciate the amazing support of the Carolina Panthers and Sir Purr who have gone above and beyond by forming a team and bringing our cause out into the community," said Basil Lyberg, executive director of 24 Hours of Booty. "As the only feline who rides in 24 Hours of Booty, we are proud to have such a cool cat among our riders and supporters."

Sir Purr's series of appearances will lead up to the 10th Annual 24 Hours of Booty on July 29-30 along the "Booty Loop" at Myers Park. The event, presented by the Levine Cancer Institute, has raised more than $5 million for cancer research and survivorship over its first nine years. The list of local charities that it benefits includes The Keep Founding Fund, established by the Panthers in honor of the late player and coach Sam Mills and former player Mark Fields.

"Our organization is very passionate about the fight against cancer and very appreciative of the all that 24 Hours of Booty and the participants have done to support the Keep Founding Fund," said Riley Fields, director of community relations for the Carolina Panthers. "Each year, the event brings more opportunities to get involved, so we are excited about Sir Purr's participation and having a team for the 10th anniversary of the ride."
