CHARLOTTE — The big man came in on his sleigh and dropped a big present on the Panthers on Christmas Eve.

Right guard Robert Hunt's window to begin practicing was opened on Wednesday, and he'll be on the field today as they prepare for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.

It will mark his first on-field work since Week 2.

The Pro Bowl guard has 21 days to practice before they have to make a decision to activate him from IR, though that can happen at any time in the window.

Panthers head coach Dave Canales has said Hunt will need time to get acclimated after the long layoff. He tore a biceps tendon at Arizona and needed surgery to repair the damage.

He's been on the practice field working on the side recently, but will become more involved in individual drills today.
