CHARLOTTE — With a physical now completed, the trade is now done.

The Panthers agreed to send quarterback Andy Dalton to the Eagles last week, in exchange for a 2027 seventh-round pick. That deal is now official.

Dalton, 38, was allowed to seek a trade earlier this offseason, and the Panthers added 27-year-old Kenny Pickett in free agency to serve in a backup role. General manager Dan Morgan said last week that adding a quarterback in the draft was a possibility.

Bryce Young, Andy Dalton

Dalton came here in 2023 to mentor Bryce Young and was valuable in that role throughout his time. He appeared in 13 games, with seven starts during his three seasons here. He was starting in 2024, before suffering a thumb injury in a car accident which allowed Young to reclaim the role.

During his career, which includes stints with the Bengals, Saints, Cowboys, and Bears, Dalton has thrown for 31,594 yards (26th on the league's all-time list), 204 touchdowns (27th all-time), and 151 interceptions (63rd).
