CHARLOTTE — The NFL draft is just weeks away and the mock drafts are heating up. The Panthers pick 19th overall this year, which means there are dozens of possibilities to discuss over the final weeks. Here are the latest projects for the Panthers from media outlets.
The Panthers have seven total selections this year, and you can see all of their picks here, and we'll keep you posted on all the latest at Panthers.com.
Rhett Lewis—Plenty of speculation about Carolina taking another wide out here to support Bryce Young but the Panthers pick Sadiq instead, who has a receiver skill set, just with a bigger frame, creating chances to capitalize on some matchup advantages.
Garrett Podell—The Panthers had one of the best offseasons in the NFL after reinforcing their front seven with edge rusher Jaelan Phillips and linebacker Devin Lloyd. They also patched up the offensive line by getting Rasheed Walker on the cheap. Here, they plug in a legitimate receiving tight end in Kenyon Sadiq, the 2025 first-team All-Big Ten honoree who led all collegiate tight ends with eight receiving touchdowns while primarily lining up on the line of scrimmage or in the slot.
Peter Schrager—Freeling's physical traits are going to get some attention this month. He's 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds with long 34¾-inch arms, and he has the quicks, running a 4.93-second 40. Freeling has played both left and right tackle, too. He could be a key long-term building block for Carolina in protecting for Bryce Young and opening holes for Chuba Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks.
Nate Tice and Charles McDonald—Carolina spent a lot of money on defense the past two offseasons, so here it can take another first-round offensive playmaker. Sadiq is an explosive weapon in the passing game who gives just enough as a blocker to show promise as a high-impact, every down tight end. Sadiq and Tetairoa McMillan would give defenses a lot of headaches with their size and athleticism as pass catchers.
