CHARLOTTE – Wide receiver Damiere Byrd has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a broken arm during a first-quarter punt return against the Seahwaks.

Byrd broke the same arm last year and spent eight weeks on IR. He was placed on IR again after suffering a leg injury in Week 16 of the 2017 season. Rookie wide receiver DJ Moore took over punt return duties after Byrd exited. Byrd has contributed as a kick returner this season as well, though fellow wideout Curtis Samuel had been the primary return man.

Cornerback Lorenzo Doss has been signed from the practice squad to fill the open spot on the active roster. Doss played against the Falcons in Week 2 - his only game action in 2018. He previously played in six games with the Broncos in 2016.

Carolina has some injury concern at cornerback with Donte Jackson having suffered a quad injury on the first play of Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. He did not return to the game.
