Foxhole: Defense seeks more pressure

Comments from Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox following the team's practice.

On injuries: Did not participate -Jeff Otah (knee). Limited participation - Gary Barnidge (ribs), Tyler Brayton (ankle), Brandon LaFell (hamstring), Jordan Senn (ankle) and Steve Smith (thigh). Full participation - Louis Leonard (elbow).

On practice squad moves: We released running back Josh Vaughan and picked up wide receiver Marcus Henry.

On if tackle Jeff Otah has had any additional setbacks in his rehabilitation from knee surgery during training camp: No. No more setbacks, just getting stronger.

On the defense needing to apply more pressure on the quarterback: It's an area we're trying to improve in. You're really just trying to put pressure on the quarterback. Sometimes too much is put in to sacks. We've applied pressure to the quarterback; you're always looking to apply more. It's an area we're working at; I don't think it's a real deficiency.

On if he is satisfied with the defensive line's play in the first two games: I think it would be fair to say at 0-2 I'm not real satisfied with any phase.
