Comments from Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox following the team's training camp practice.
On injuries: Tyler Brayton (ankle), Quinton Culberson (thigh), Thomas Davis (PUP - knee), Aaron Francisco (hamstring), Mike Goodson (ankle), Jeff Otah (PUP - knee), Steve Smith (PUP - arm), and Jamar Williams (shoulder). We worked some guys back in today. Chris Gamble practiced full; Trent Guy was limited; Jordan Senn was limited; and Jonathan Stewart got a little bit more work. Other than that we did pretty good. Louis Leonard went in for an IV. It was a little warm.
On how long defensive end Tyler Brayton will be out: Day-to-day. We're just trying to keep it (ankle) from moving around much. They've got it in a boot, cast, whatever it takes to try to keep it from flaring up. We'll take it one day at a time.
On how running back Jonathan Stewart responded to his first practice of training camp on Saturday: Good. It's like climbing a mountain. He's getting a little bit better every day. We'll take it slow. He's way further ahead this year than he was this time last year.
On the team fighting through a hot practice: It's like practicing in the rain last night. You never know when you're going to get these conditions, in particular early in the season. I think it's good getting them climatized. You get to find out a little bit about guys, how they push through it. I thought it was a good practice.
