GLENDALE, Ariz. — Panthers left tackle Ikem Ekwonu will be back in the lineup this week, after missing the opener while recovering from his appendectomy.

Ekwonu is active for the Panthers this week, after practicing throughout the week. He was listed as questionable on the final injury report of the week.

Veteran defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton is out this week with a hamstring, and head coach Dave Canales said he thought Wharton might miss two to four weeks.

Also inactive for the Panthers are wide receivers Jimmy Horn Jr. and Dalevon Campbell, tight end James Mitchell, and tackle Yosh Nijman.

Nijman started last week against the Jaguars, but the Panthers have Brady Christensen, who can play tackle as well, and he lends a little more flexibility to the group.

And with Wharton out, Bobby Brown III is expected to start, and rookie Cam Jackson will appear in his first NFL game. The fifth-round pick was inactive last week.
