Inactives: Two starters will be held out of Texans game

HOUSTON — The Panthers will be without a couple of starters and several key contributors for Saturday's second preseason game against the Texans.

Cornerback Jaycee Horn (thumb) and left guard Damien Lewis (shoulder) won't play, absences that were anticipated.

Shemar Bartholomew will start at corner for Horn, after they used Corey Thornton there last week.

Cade Mays will start for Lewis at left guard.

The Panthers will also be without rookie outside linebacker Nic Scourton, who left Thursday's joint practice with cramping and heat-related symptoms. Wide receiver Jalen Coker, who was out sick this week, will also be held out Saturday.

Trevin Wallace, who missed the joint practice for a personal matter, will be in uniform and is expected to play.
