Who's going to win?
Each week in the NFL, fans and media members alike share their opinions and make their game picks.
This year, Panthers.com is showing you what Madden 17 has to say. This week, the Panthers host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. The Panthers took the lead early in the fourth quarter, but the Buccaneers closed strong to come away with a 26-17 victory.
With quarterback Cam Newton and running back Jonathan Stewart out with injuries, their replacements put Carolina in position to possibly pull out the victory. Running back Cameron Artis-Payne (19 carries, 55 yards) gave the Panthers a 10-3 lead with a 2-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, then quarterback Derek Anderson connected with wide receiver Devin Funchess early in the fourth quarter for an 11-yard score that put Carolina back ahead at 17-13.
Tampa Bay, however, controlled things from there. While Anderson tossed two interceptions, Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston avoided turnovers, and his 23-yard strike to tight end Cameron Brate gave Tampa the lead for good. Rookie Roberto Aguayo added his third and fourth field goals down the stretch to seal the deal.
Player of the Game: Winston avoided the mistakes that he haunted him all season and tossed two touchdown passes, completing 18-of-27 passes for 204 yards.
