Opposing View: Panthers vs. Vikings

On Captain Munnerlyn and any stories he could share about him:"One that I can tell? Captain was a good guy and he, as you say, is chatty. I really appreciated the time we had here together with him. He helped us become better and I think he taught a lot of the younger guys how to play. I'm trying to think of a good story I can tell, I have plenty I can't tell."

On Adam Thielen and how he came out of nowhere:"He kind of did come out of nowhere to be honest. He was an undrafted free agent out of Mankato State. (He came) to a workout camp here and ended up signing a free agent rookie contract. He played special teams early in his years and kind of continued to improve. Adam is a great competitor, tough guy, very smart, understands how to run routes and I think those things have all continued to develop as he's become more mature."

On Christian McCaffrey:"He's obviously very good, very explosive. Great stop and start guy, excellent speed, catches the ball well. He's very dangerous and (the Panthers) use him a lot of different ways. I can't compare him to all the other rookies, but he's a really good player and I'm sure they're very happy with him."

On cornerback Xavier Rhodes development:"He's very talented. It took him a little bit of time to figure out the techniques and scheme that we were trying to do. Then sometimes it takes a little while for the coaches to figure out what might be a better way to teach the techniques or different techniques because of Xavier's skillset. That's what we try to do here with him is try to get him integrated into a system and do it how we want to do it, then make little tweaks because of his strengths and how we can help him to become better as we move forward."

On facing Julius Peppers again:"Lucky me. He's an unbelievable athlete, player. I've seen him do so many things. When we played up in Green Bay a few years ago he intercepted a pass and ran it back for a touchdown. He's got such great long arms and explosion and power and speed. It doesn't look like he's slowed down any. I'm thankful he's not in our division anymore, but unfortunately we have to play him this week and he'll be a tough matchup for us. He's a great player. First ballot Hall of Famer in my opinion."
