Panthers activate David Moore, release two, including Hunter Renfrow

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers created a pair of roster spots heading into Saturday's playoff game, and activated another player.

The team waived veteran wide receiver Hunter Renfrow and second-year safety Demani Richardson, and added wide receiver David Moore.

Renfrow, making a courageous comeback from ulcerative colitis which kept him out of the league last year, played in the first six games this year, but had been inactive ever since. His fourth-down catch against Dallas helped set up a game-winner, helping them get to this point.

Richardson made the team last year as an undrafted rookie and started five games, but had been inactive each of the last four weeks of the regular season.

Moore's 21-day window to practice was ending Tuesday, so he had to be activated today or he'd have remained on IR. He's been out since an elbow injury in Week 4, but he's been a valuable late-season and postseason contributor for head coach Dave Canales on three teams now.

That leaves one open roster spot, and guard Robert Hunt has also been practicing while awaiting a possible return from IR.
