Panthers add linebacker to practice squad

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers made a change to the practice squad Friday, as they look at options at a position of interest.

The team signed linebacker Kamal Martin to the practice squad.

To make room for him on the roster, they released cornerback Jalen Julius from the practice squad.

Martin was a 2020 fifth-round pick of the Packers from Minnesota. He played in 10 games last year after recovering from a knee injury, and had 20 tackles and a sack. He was released by the Packers in final cuts this year.

The Panthers continue to look at options at inside linebacker, and that's expected to continue in the coming weeks, as they're still thin there.
