Panthers bring back Frank Herron

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers made a change on the defensive line Wednesday, bringing back a player who was on the roster earlier this offseason.

The team signed defensive end Frank Herron. To make room for him on the roster, they waived defensive end Kendall Donnerson.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Herron was initially signed in mid-April, but was waived earlier this month after they signed undrafted rookies.

Herron entered the league as an undrafted rookie from LSU in 2018, and has spent time with the Patriots, Seahawks, Titans, Lions, and Dolphins. He's appeared in seven career games, all with the Lions the last two seasons.

Donnerson earned a brief call-up to the active roster after appearing as a tryout player at the team's rookie minicamp.
