Panthers make moves to get to the 53-man roster

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers made a series of moves Tuesday afternoon to get to the initial 53-man roster limit.

The moves include releasing a handful of veterans, including wide receiver Hunter Renfrow and nose tackle Shy Tuttle.

The Panthers also waived running back Raheem Blackshear with an injury settlement, waived-injured guard Ja'Tyre Carter, and placed defensive end LaBryan Ray on injured reserve (he can still return after missing a minimum of four weeks).
