CHARLOTTE — Wide receiver Xavier Legette is inactive for today's home opener against the Falcons.

Legette was limited in practice this week with a hamstring issue and was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report.

In his absence, David Moore is expected to start at wide receiver.

Veteran defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton and outside linebacker Patrick Jones II are out this week with hamstring issues, having been declared out on Friday. Bobby Brown III and Nic Scourton will replace them in the starting lineup.

Also inactive for the Panthers are wide receivers Jimmy Horn Jr., tight end James Mitchell, and center Nick Samac.

The team activated veteran guard Brandon Walton from the practice squad for depth so they'd have eight offensive linemen, since Samac just arrived on Tuesday and is still learning a new playbook.

They're starting Cade Mays at center this week and Chandler Zavala at right guard, after placing Austin Corbett and Robert Hunt on injured reserve earlier this week.
