CHARLOTTE — The hardest part was coming up with a name for the show.

Because the easy part is getting Luke Kuechly and JJ Jansen to do one of their favorite things in the world — talk a little ball.

The Hall of Fame linebacker and the longest-serving player in Panthers franchise history are bringing their collective experience to the airwaves this spring, launching a new podcast on all the Panthers' platforms.

They settled on the understated "JJ and Luke" as the title of the podcast, borrowing heavily from the award-winning "Jordan and Jake" podcast, which has long graced listeners' ears with insight.

There were so many ways they could have gone, but Kuechly made sure to include everyone and put other people first, as is his custom.

"I gave Luke like four great names, and he didn't like any of them," Jansen laughed. "He told me he wants it to be called "JJ and Luke." I said it's got to be "Luke and JJ," but he said I want it to be 'JJ and Luke.'

"OK, that's great, you're the Hall of Famer, 'JJ and Luke' it is."

Getting these two going is never hard, which should make this an incredible addition to the podcast lineup.

Jansen just signed for an 18th season with the Panthers. He's played a franchise-record 277 games (and counting), and having just turned 40, will be the third-oldest player in franchise history — trailing just Vinny Testaverde and John Kasay.

So they have a lot to talk about, and perspectives that few people have.

You can catch the show on Panthers.com, the team's YouTube channel, and wherever you get your podcasts.
