Week 10 Wednesday Injury Report: Rico Dowdle held out of practice

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers practiced without one of the hottest players in the league on Wednesday.

Running back Rico Dowdle (quadriceps) did not participate on Wednesday.

He ran for 130 yards and two touchdowns in last week's win at Green Bay, putting him among some franchise legends. He's only the fourth player in franchise history to have at least 125 rushing yards in three games in a season, joining Stephen Davis (five games in 2003), Christian McCaffrey (four in 2019), and DeAngelo Williams (three in 2008 and 2009).

Guard Chandler Zavala (elbow) was also held out on Wednesday. He returned from the knee injury that landed him on IR last week, but left the Packers game in the first quarter and did not return.

The Panthers did get some good news on the offensive line, as Cade Mays (ankle/knee) returned after missing last week and was a full participant.

Left guard Damien Lewis (oblique) and outside linebacker Princely Umanmielen (ankle) practiced fully on Wednesday as well, while safety Lathan Ransom (illness) was limited.

Check out post-game photos from the Panthers 23-22 win over the New Orleans Saints.
