CHARLOTTE — The Panthers are going to use their seventh different combination of starting offensive linemen in nine weeks, but they're doing it with familiar faces.

The team activated offensive lineman Chandler Zavala from injured reserve to the 53-man roster Saturday, after he got a full week of practice.

Zavala went on IR after a knee injury in Week 4. Prior to that, he had replaced Robert Hunt in the starting lineup at right guard after Hunt went on IR with a torn biceps in Week 2.

Zavala could be right back in that spot, since the Panthers put right guard Brady Christensen (who replaced Zavala) on IR this week with a torn Achilles.

To make room for Zavala on the roster, they released veteran running back/special teamer DeeJay Dallas. He started the year on the practice squad, played in a couple of games while Chuba Hubbard was injured, but was inactive the last two weeks.

They also activated practice squad outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon by standard elevation. They needed help at the position since Princely Umanmielen had been ruled out with an ankle injury. They also signed outside linebacker Trevis Gipson this week to add depth there behind starters D.J. Wonnum and Nic Scourton.

The 27-year-old Moon, originally an undrafted free agent from Florida, has appeared in 21 games with two starts during his time with the Ravens and Steelers.
