Panthers release depth chart ahead of Week 3 for the 2025 season

DepthChart

CHARLOTTE — With a couple of significant injuries in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, the Panthers have a couple of significant adjustments to the depth chart heading into this week's home opener against the Falcons.

The Panthers placed starting right guard Robert Hunt and center Austin Corbett on injured reserve on Tuesday, so they had to be replaced.

As Panthers head coach Dave Canales said Monday, Chandler Zavala will replace Hunt, and Cade Mays will return to the middle, as he did last year when Corbett went to IR.

Of course, it's hard to replace the play and the leadership that those veterans provide.

"I think about Cade and the opportunity for Chandler coming in there, but between Austin and between Rob, these are two guys that I lean on also just for messaging and for the toughness and the fight and the discipline to just continue to go back to work. So, we'll certainly miss those guys that way."

Mays started eight of the final nine games last year after Corbett was lost to a torn biceps tendon, missing one game late with an illness.

New addition Nick Samac is backing up Mays on the chart now. The former Ravens practice squader was signed on Tuesday, along with linebacker Maema Njongmeta.
