CHARLOTTE — The Panthers entered the season with a deep and talented offensive line.

That depth is being tested this week.

Three starters were held out of Wednesday's practice, and a fourth was limited.

Right guard Brady Christensen (Achilles) has what Dave Canales called a "significant" injury that's expected to knock him out for the season.

But center Cade Mays (ankle/knee) and right tackle Taylor Moton (knee) were also listed as out, and Damien Lewis (oblique) was listed as a full participant.

The Panthers did get Chandler Zavala (knee) back on the field to start his 21-day window to practice as he works his way back from injured reserve. He was a full participant on Wednesday.

On the quarterback front, starter Bryce Young (ankle) was a full participant after missing last week's game.

Backup Andy Dalton (right thumb), who started against the Bills, did not participate.

Outside linebacker Princely Umanmielen (ankle) and linebacker Trevin Wallace (shoulder) were also listed as out, along with Nick Scott (groin).
