Foley joins the Panthers as an assistant special teams coach with 30 years of coaching experience, including spending the 2019 season on head coach Matt Rhule's staff at Baylor as a special teams analyst.
Prior to Baylor, Foley spent 11 years at Temple in a number of roles, including interim head coach on two occasions, once in 2016 and again in 2018. Under Rhule at Temple from 2013 to 2016, Foley served as assistant head coach, tight ends coach and special teams coordinator. Foley consistently coached the Owls' special teams units to be one of the top programs in the country.
Before his time at Temple, Foley made stops at quite a few schools, including Hofstra, Fordham, Jacksonville, Penn, Williams and Albany. Foley's longest tenure during that stretch came at Fordham, where he spent seven years, including two seasons as head coach, from 2004 to 2005.
As a player, Foley played offensive line at Bucknell University, where he was a three-year starter at guard and center.
