- Jarrett Kingston deserves some kind of a medal. The second-year offensive lineman played every snap of the third preseason game, all 67. He has the versatility to play center and guard, and that's helping his case heading into this weekend and next week.
- Other than Kingston, second-unit linemen Brandon Walton, Michael Tarquin, Luke Kandra, and Steven Losoya, along with quarterback Jack Plummer, were the only players to go more than half the snaps.
- Veteran wideout David Moore was just under the line at 49 percent. He's a trusted agent of head coach Dave Canales, but he's also operating in a much more competitive wide receiver position this year.

- Safety Lathan Ransom played a lot of football, as he competes for a role with the regulars. The Panthers could still be in the safety market, but his 29 snaps included some good plays and an impact play, with a team-high five tackles, along with a pass defensed and the interception.
- Outside linebacker Boogie Basham played a defense-high 33 snaps (67 percent), as that position has been hard-hit by injuries, and without the starters, was very thin.
Player | Special Teams Snaps |
---|---|
JJ Jansen | 6 (29%) |
Sam Martin | 6 (29%) |
Ryan Fitzgerald | 5 (24%) |
- Read into special teams snap counts what you will. Linebacker Claudin Cherelus, who is very good in that area, didn't play any since they know what he can do. Meanwhile, rookie safety Jack Henderson played 12 in the kicking game, as that's the area he has potential value.
- Kicker Matthew Wright was active but didn't play, as rookie Ryan Fitzgerald handled all the kicking.
