CHARLOTTE — Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford said the Panthers' secondary was one of the best in the league, and voters for the AP All-Pro team apparently agreed.

While no Panthers were chosen to the team, chosen by a 50-person panel of national media members, the voting patterns backed up what Stafford was saying about their defensive backs.

Panthers cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson were sixth and seventh in voting at their position, the highest-ranking pair of teammates.

Jackson actually got three first-team votes and Horn one, but Horn was named to more ballots and finished one point higher in the total rankings.

They trailed Houston's Derek Stingley Jr., Philadelphia's Quinyon Mitchell, Denver's Patrick Surtain, Seattle's Devon Witherspoon, and New England's Christian Gonzalez.

Jackson's tied for the league lead with 19 passes defensed this season, and has a career-high four interceptions, including the pick-six against the Rams.

Horn tied for the league lead among cornerbacks with five interceptions, and was named to his second straight Pro Bowl.

The Carolina Panthers face the Los Angeles Rams Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025 at Bank Of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC.

Defensive tackle Derrick Brown was seventh among vote-getters at defensive tackle, after notching a career-high 5.0 sacks.

Long snapper JJ Jansen got a single first-place vote, and punter Sam Martin got a second-place vote at his position.

Of course, the Panthers have a bigger target in mind when they face first-team All-Pro quarterback Stafford and the Rams at 4:30 p.m. in their first home playoff game in 10 years.

That's a much bigger deal.
