CHARLOTTE — At the end of Week 11, as the dust settled around the NFC South, the Carolina Panthers were the only team in the division to walk away with a win. Granted, one team had a bye week and two were playing each other, but semantics.
Now firmly in the second half of the season, division games have picked up, happening almost every week at this point. The Panthers defeated the Falcons in one of those division games Sunday. The Buccaneers went outside the division and the conference to face the Bills. And the Saints enjoyed a Week 11 bye.
Let's catch up with all the news from around the division heading into Week 12.

Atlanta Falcons (3-7, 0-3): Fall to Panthers, with worse news coming after the game
Presumably, those who follow the Panthers know how the Falcons game went on Sunday. Carolina got down 21-7, but came back to win 30-27 in overtime, on the back of Bryce Young's franchise record-setting performance of 448 passing yards. We have you covered with wall-to-wall recaps of said game on panthers.com, so make sure to check out those stories.
The biggest updates with the Falcons came after the game. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was tackled in the third quarter and went down awkwardly on his left knee. He attempted to walk off the field, but had to drop to the ground before he made it to the sideline. He wouldn't return to the game with a knee injury, and now, he won't be able to return for at least four games, and possibly the rest of the season.
The Falcons announced on Monday that they would be placing Penix on injured reserve with the knee injury. This move requires him to miss at least four games. He could miss more, as reports that surfaced on Monday indicated.

"Hurting for the young man, especially with how well he was playing at the beginning of that football game, really finding his groove," Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said on Monday. "I liked his week of preparation. I like the way he went through everything. I like how he was prepared at a very high level. I like how he took a lot of ownership of it last week and really was ready to have a bounce-back week. It's heartbreaking for him to go out and get hurt."
The Falcons also had to finish overtime without Drake London. The receiver left the game with a knee injury and, as of Monday, is considered week-to-week with a PCL injury.
"You're definitely going to miss Drake," Morris said. "Obviously, he's been super productive. He's been outstanding for us all year. He's an emotional leader for us. He's our barnyard bully. He's a tough guy, and he certainly will be missed."
However, London has played through injuries before, so Morris doesn't want to be too maudlin just yet.
"You never know, Drake could come back tomorrow and feel a lot better, but we'll get a feel for how that goes and he'll be a week-to-week guy," Morris said.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-4, 2-0): Bucs fall in shootout in Buffalo as Allen sets record
The Bucs held the edge five times against the Bills on Sunday, but the lead changed nine times, and in the end, it was Josh Allen and Buffalo standing there with a 44-32 November win.
"You score 32 points, you're supposed to win the game," said Bucs coach Todd Bowles.
Bills QB Josh Allen finished with six touchdowns, three passing and three rushing. That's a stat line he has finished with twice now, something no other quarterback has ever done. The Bucs tried to slow him down, picking Allen off twice. But the reigning MVP still finished going 19-of-30 for 317 yards and three touchdowns, plus six rushes for 40 yards and the three rushing scores.
After the Bucs took the lead in the fourth quarter, Allen led back-to-back touchdown drives.
"When we went after him, he made some plays in the second half," said Bowles. "When we covered, he stayed in the pocket longer and beat us with his feet. He's a great player, and he did a heck of a job. Hats off to him."

Running back Sean Tucker was explosive for the Bucs. Bucky Irving continues to be sidelined, and Tucker usurped Rachaad White in the meantime. And on Sunday, he made his case for getting more snaps even when Irving eventually returns. Tucker finished with 19 rushes for 106 yards (averaging 5.6 yards per carry) and two touchdowns on the ground. He also hauled in two receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown through the air.
"He got started off hot early," said Bowles of Tucker. "We went with the hot hand. Once you get a hot hand, we're going to leave him in there regardless of who the back is, and today it was him. He did a great job today."
Bowles told reporters on Monday that Irving (foot/shoulder) and receiver Chris Godwin Jr. (fibula) will be "worked in more during practice this week."
While that injury news is positive for the Bucs, they also received some disappointing news this week. Cornerback Jamel Dean—who leads all DBs in the league in passer rating allowed—suffered a hip injury in the Bills game and could miss Sunday's game.
The Bucs travel to the West Coast for Week 12 for an NFC showdown with the Rams that could have major playoff implications.

New Orleans Saints (2-8, 1-1): Enjoy a bye week after a win
The Saints (infamously) got their second win of the season in Week 10, against the Panthers here in Charlotte. They were able to roll from that straight into a bye week. It gave first-year head coach Kellen Moore a week to go back and watch the game tape from the Panthers game and really assess where his team stands.
That starts with quarterback Tyler Shough. He got his second start against Carolina. Moore was encouraged by what he saw.
"You want to see where his eyes go, and ultimately where his body goes (under duress). I thought there was some good stuff. He kept his eyes downfield, and I thought there were some really good examples of him stepping up in the pocket," said Moore.

"That's always the biggest challenge for young quarterbacks coming up in the NFL. If you try to go backward and out — some guys can get away with it in college — but with the sheer talent of these edge rushers, that's where the big sacks come and the fumbles."
Shough could have help for the future. Receiver Chris Olave has one year left on his contract, but said on Friday that he plans on being in New Orleans for the long haul.
"It's in the works," Olave said. "I want to be in New Orleans forever."
