Snap Counts

Take a look at the snap counts and playtime percentage for the Panthers in Week 15 of the regular season against the Saints.

Brycen Tremayne 8 (14%) 15 (65%)
Jimmy Horn 4 (7%)
Jake Curhan 3 (5%) 3 (13%)
  • The running back rotation flipped back again. After Chuba Hubbard got the bulk of the work last week against the Rams, with 59 percent of the snaps to Rico Dowdle's 42, it went back the other way Sunday. Dowdle had 60 percent of the snaps and Hubbard 42 percent. That included the delightful play in which Hubbard lined up as a fullback early and converted a third down.
  • Ja'Tavion Sanders led the tight ends in snaps Sunday with 30, but they used all three, with Tommy Tremble getting 28 and Mitchell Evans 25. On a day when they came out with the intention to run, opening with all three on the field for the first play was a sign.
  • Reserve offensive lineman Jake Curhan is deep enough in the offense that he's drawing extra duty. His three snaps as a sixth (the role played in the past by Brady Christensen or Chandler Zavala) were also a sign of the desire to run.

  • Bobby Brown III also played more, with 32 snaps (twice as many as last game), and made the most of them, with a lineman-high six tackles, along with half a sack and a quarterback hit.
  • Trevis Gipson continues to play an important role in the outside linebacker rotation, with 35 percent of the snaps. He's better able to play the run than Princely Umanmielen (17 percent), which is why he gets more work.

  • With Thomas Incoom (87 percent) and Brycen Tremayne (65 percent) pulling double duty, the next-most went to backup linebackers Maema Njongmeta and Bam Martin-Scott, who played 65 percent of the snaps each.
