Panthers sign offensive lineman Marquel Harrell

SPARTANBURG - The Panthers signed offensive lineman Marquel Harrell on Thursday, releasing wide receiver Micah Simon to keep the roster at 85 players.

Harrell was signed by Buffalo as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn in 2020. Harrell spent the last five games of the 2020 season on the Bills practice squad before being released in 2021. He was briefly with the Las Vegas Raiders this summer during OTAs and minicamp.

Harrell spent five seasons at Auburn and appeared in 43 games with 31 starts during his time with the Tigers. He was a two-year starter from 2018-19, being named third-team All-SEC by Phil Steele for his contributions in 2018.
